Weissman is an American costume and dancewear design company celebrating over 60 years in business! For three generations, we’ve remained family-owned. All products are imagined, designed and developed at our St. Louis, Missouri headquarters with many products made here in our U.S. factory.

Our History
Rose and Julius Weissman, and their son Howard, founded Weissman's decades ago with a mission to create the most beautiful, high-quality and high-value recital and performance costumes they possibly could. But beautiful craftsmanship alone did not build the Weissman brand name.
Passion for the art of dance and dedication to impeccable customer service are at the foundation of our business and the reason we have grown into an international destination for made-to-order and in-stock costumes, dancewear, gymnastics wear, dance team styles, accessories, shoes and more, with thousands of products in our inventory and the support of dance professionals around the world.

Weissman: All Weissman-branded customize, costume and dancewear products are imagined, designed and developed by us exclusively for studio owners, dance teachers and our professional account holders. We will never sell these products through any direct-to-consumer channel.
Balera: All Balera-branded products are imagined, designed and developed by Weissman for studio owners, dance teachers and professional account holders. Balera styles can also be purchased by consumers at retail prices through websites (including DancewearSolutions), retail boutiques and shops owned by our professional account holders.
FlexTek™ Smooth: This collection of high-performance dancewear offers moisture-wicking fabric, flatlock seams and comfortable compression. FlexTek Smooth styles can also be purchased by consumers at retail prices through websites (including DancewearSolutions), retail boutiques and shops owned by our professional account holders.
Vendor Brands: We also carry a number of fantastic vendor and boutique dancewear brands such as Apolla® Bloch®, Capezio®, Pastry® and more that all qualify for your Volume Discount, making us the best resource in dance for studios and professional account holders. Please note, some vendor brands (such as Bloch and Capezio) will not allow us (nor other domestic distributors) to sell their product internationally.
